Technical Summary

Victron Energy Deep Cycle GEL battery, model BAT412800104. 12V, 90Ah rated capacity at 20-hour discharge and 25°C. Flat plate GEL technology with copper terminals. Dimensions are 350 x 167 x 183 mm and weight is 26 kg. Float design life is stated as 12 years at 20°C. Cycle design life is stated as 500 cycles at 80% discharge, 750 cycles at 50% discharge and 1800 cycles at 30% discharge.

Installation Notes

For cyclic use, the supplied guidance states a 3-step charge curve: bulk, absorption and float. For standby use, a 2-step curve of bulk and float may be used. Temperature compensation is recommended at -24 mV/°C per battery where long periods below 10°C or above 30°C are expected. Charge current should preferably not exceed 0.2C.

Efficiency

Low self-discharge is stated at less than 2% per month at 20°C. The supplied notes also reference storage mode to reduce corrosion of the positive plates and a Battery Refresh mode to compensate for self-discharge weekly.
