SolarEdge S500 Power Optimizer

The SolarEdge S500 Power Optimizer is a module-level DC power optimisation device for residential SolarEdge PV systems. It is used with SolarEdge residential inverters and supports panel-level energy management, including operation with bifacial PV modules where applicable.

Model S500B-1GM4MRM power optimiser with MC4 input and output connectors, 550 W rated input DC power, 125 Vdc maximum input voltage, 12.5 to 105 Vdc MPPT operating range, and 15 Adc maximum module short-circuit current. Maximum output voltage is 80 Vdc, safety output voltage is 1 ± 0.1 Vdc, and maximum allowed system voltage is 1000 Vdc. Dimensions are 129 x 165 x 45 mm, weight 790 g, operating temperature range -40 to +85 °C, IP68 rated.

Installation Notes

Flat-bracket variant. Input connector is MC4 with 0.1 m input wire length; output connector is MC4 with output wires of (+) 2.3 m and (-) 0.10 m. For installations after 1 April 2024, rated input DC power for S500 and S500B is 550 W. Power derating applies above +85 °C for S440 and S500, and above +75 °C for S500B.

Efficiency

Maximum efficiency is 99.5% and weighted efficiency is 98.6%. RoHS compliant.
